    Dog with a little problem

Had my Lab into the vet yesterday & he now has 4 or 5 stitches in back of his neck.Vet tells me no duck shooting for Shadow until 2nd weekend ,need to keep the stitches dry. Is a spray on bandage suitable to stop water getting in? Or is there some thing else I can use ?
I have a couple of spots with no swim retrieve ,swampy area & small drain with not much more than a puddle that both shoot pretty well .Just don't know how to tell a 6 1/2 yr old he can't go shooting opening weekend.

Manuka Honey seals it and makes it waterproof and is the best infection fighter out there. Sure nothing is without risks... but then you can't wrap them in cotton wool forever either.

Started using the Petroleum jelly yesterday after coming home from work to find he'd had a scratch & pulled 1 of the stitches out.(bit of a mess to clean up first). Found honey very sticky too ,seemed to attract a sorts of dirt n crap.
Stitches out tomorrow so can get into some shooting proper ,just getting him threw fences is a worry with the wound on back of his neck. But he's a different dog since his little opp; the lump that was removed must of been causing him more pain that I realized.
