Dogs on treadmills

Have any of you ever used a human treadmill for your dogs and how did you get them comfortable with using it.

So far I have let them sniff around it and had it running while they were around it. I've been on it and encouraged them to come on it too.

It's only been a few days and I don't want to rush anything and scare them.

Any hints would be welcome.

I find them easier to get on the treadmill after they have come out of the sunbed, much more relaxed. Make sure you put them in the spa after the treadmill as they can get lactic acid build up in the muscles, makes them all tense

thought guys "exercising" their dogs from the driver's seat of the ute were one thing, but hey, whatever floats your boat...

Speaking of floating your boat, perhaps try some hydrotherapy also, followed by full body massage

Don't forget the pedicure.....

I know a few french professional gundogtrainers who have their dogs on treadmills. You can find them easely and cheap secondhand. Put two small fences on the sides and one in front. Simple, quick way of training stamina/endurance. While you clean the kennel you have your dog(s) trotting 10/12/15 minutes on the treadmill. Saves time and for a pro time is money.

When the wifes rottie got old, we put him on the treadmill on occasions during winter, but he was old and slow. It would be hard work to get our current dogs to happily run on them.
There are carpet mills like this Revolution Carpet Mills
that would be easy to copy. No motor so dog sets it's own pace.
