Feeding dogs (doesn't apply to labs)

    A tangent from another thread.....

My lot live together, kennelled in one box etc. And they are feed together, not in one big pile of tucker but between them there might be six piles of food and there is ALWAYS food left over after. There is three dogs that get their own pile and the rest are split into maybe three other piles. It's also a very rare day that there is fights over food (haven't seen one yet), a couple of growls is about it.
Also, they like to be feed going onto dark, even after a hard day on the hill they won't eat much till then. Watered after work and rested, then feed going dark seems to work well and seems to be when they want to eat.

The dogs that eat slow as a rule still have their food, they just might be the last put away as a few of them fuck around when it comes to eating so they get more time. Later in the night when their out for their final run and water they head over if their hungry and tidy up what's left.
