have had both, both are good

There was a note in the Ballingers h&f store yesterday advertising a gwp birch pup for sale last of the litter. Ring them and enquire. I have an 8 year old gwp botch that is exclusively deer trained and she's just great.
Good luck
pity your so far away my wire hair bitch just gave birth to 16 pups

How much better for the average hunter are these DD's over a GWP?
what advantage does being a DD give a deer dog?
Paul Michaels likes to choose the quiet pup from the litter for deer whereas the DD appears to be a next level hunting machine that would be hard for the average hunter to train?
they both require training... natural ability helps that, and one has twice as much as the other.
the average hunter has no concept of training to reach a desired level in any breed, an average dog trainer can in fact reach that level easy.
Pauls selection and training is not new, pick the timid pup and shut down what ever drive it has and then rebuild it as deer dog. the DD was never designed to fit our style of deer work first and foremost is is used for recovery and finding of all game.
they have a gearbox with a very good 1st gear when used for a deer dog.
