It means our very own working bred the huntaway, bred solely for work for the last century, can now be registered with our countries registry as a purebred. While they say they can't be shown and are not to be selected on its type, only on its work, it is only a matter of time before another country accepts them as registry, then we will see the overweight middle aged females and sequin-suited wearing homosexual men of the show ring prancing around with the pride of NZ working dogs.
It has been proven that the quickest way to degrade a working dogs working ability is to breed it for anything other than work, I sincerely believe NZKC registry will be the eventual split of Huntaway breeding in NZ. I am saddened to hear it has finally happened.
The internet is an interesting tool though, I understand what is said here on a public forum stays public forever. Consider it an archive if you will.
On that note, here is a photo of 'Boyntons Ben', the only dog to win 7 New Zealand titles from memory. While I would wager he is found in a large percentage of huntaways pedigrees today, he never produced anything in his league as a sire.
Norm Boynton and Ben:
While I am on the subject of East Coast huntaways, Here is Jackie Warus' Plug, a dog that would head and hunt. Known for throwing the Brindles that are prevalent in the east coast and Wairarapa strains, He is behind many of the top trials dogs of today.

Has anyone got a picture of Sorensons Fake?
