Smile It's not all about the numbers shot.

It's been a great opening for me down here in the south. The last few years have been a bit flat since losing "Tikka" three years ago. Tikka was my fith dog at that stage and was the best alround deer/duck dog that I"ve owned.
But for me personally a lot of the pleasure this weekend wasn't limiting out but rather watching "Briar" the new dog start to work on ducks following mainly deer work over the last few months. Shes got the basics sorted considering shes only two and just needs time to polish the finer points and become something special.
They say everyone has a "once in a lifetime dog", relistically I know that was tikka due to the mix of working ability and her X factor personality but Briar is certainly trying for a shot at the tittle!
Hopefully you guys had an enjoyable hunt for your own reasons.

awesome photo Dude, agree 100% with the sentiment. got home tonight and showed 1 year old bitch a duck then did a few short throws up on back lawn for her to retrieve, managed it ok and working out how to carry them. slow steps next up shoot one for her to pick up.
enjoyed a wander with the cocker this morning he poked three lightly wounded ones out of the rushes..had a ball.

    Cool dog
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
