Suggest follow what Mike has said above to the new email address and obtain a written permit for the Kaimai dog hunting permit which is separate to your Doc hunting permit. The signage on one major entry point now states a $800 fine for not doing so. Noticed this across the Kaimai with "no dogs allowed" but you look into it and it's unless you have Doc Kaimai dog hunting permit. Unless it's across farmland like Te Tuhi (then you'd need permission from the farmer). I've been stopped by Mike on trail and presented my hunting permit, the Kaimai dog hunting permit (which is valid for 1 year) and Kiwi Aversion. The Kiwi Aversion is referenced in the Kaimai dog hunting permit by the way so is required. TBH I don't quite understand why this additional paperwork is required for the Kaimai. There has to be a reason. Surely the Aversion is sufficient given the outcome is protection of bird life?
