Our neighbour has also lost two working hunterways in the Hawkes Bay area last week.
Both were bitches,all authorities have been notified. This is the only picture I can find of the 3yr old the older dog was black an tan.

Oh, the wee bitch is missing? I would have taken her home if I could! Bloody good dog she was!! And yes she knew I was a sucker for her, she jumped right up near IN my jacket with me when she was covered in mud! :) I didn't mind though, awesome bitch! We had a cuddle ontop of the quad bike :)Quote:

Those hunterways wouldn't stand a chance as they are so placid. That was a thought we had.
thank for all your support, I got my dog back today. she was found wandering the road miles from home not hurt but a little worst for wear, she must of escaped from who ever told her
Maybe they read she was spayed and ditched her?

Just had news today from the owner of the dogs.They were shot by the new leece holder that runs the neighbouring property.:pissed off::sick: Apparently when they were building a new dam the lecee asked the digger driver to bury the two dogs and the word has finally come out.:(
gutless prick, not because he shot the dogs, but because he didn't own up and he caused all that stress because of it.

I remember when I first started shepherding my grandfather told me the heading dog was the most dangerous weapon you'll ever own, if it ain't working tie it up.... It was lost on me at the time but not now.

Wandering,worrying and attacking are all very different things, on his property he was probably within his rights but not nessacarily morally correct to shoot them(depending on situation)
Whatever he should have rung the owners and said come pick up your dogs I have shot them because....... Could have been some distaste but if they were attacking stock im sure the owners would have agreed shooting was the best option.
Now there is no evidence of anything and he went to the trouble to cover it up it makes him look like a wanker and most likely will be treated as such by all his neighbours.
