just take her to the vet
Any ideas though? I wanna try something else before I have to fork out tons of money.
Gland?
Vet mate
yep glands up........ infection and will need antibiotics.... possible lancing and a drain put in,
drop her off at the local spca for rehoming if ya too fucken tight to give your dog medical care.
welcome to owning a dog.
Sweet as.
Most likely lipoma in my unqualified opinion.
If the lump is external to the throat, then have a closer look to see of there is an entry point on it. If so then it's an infection, caused by anything from hook grass seedhead to it's last fight with a possum. Anyway, it's a vet trip.
Been to the vets. Thanks for the help guys.
That was bloody quick!
What did he or she say?
Yeah once I had some helpful ideas of what it could be I went right there.
Shes not 100% sure what it is but said there is an infection and gave me some anti biotics. Shes hoping it'll come right but is not sure if there is something stuck in there if there is she said when the lump starts to go if there is something they put her out and take it out.
TBH, it might not be a bad idea to take her to the vet, if its nothing to worry about all it will cost you is a general check up fee - and the rest of her will get checked out too. If it is something to worry about, it would be better for them to operate than you :)
...then I read the rest of the posts...
Oops, you weren't the only one Rich
Nice, Kawhai.
Good stuff that you took her, Tobes. Always great to check these things out. I've been lucky with Jet - only had to take him twice in two years (my army "mate" fed him chocolate once, another time I think Jet ate some shark on the beach or something when I was out shooting feral cats!). My mother's dog has had some serious issues with seemly harmless lumps under her skin.
I hope Pip comes right very soon. :)
PS - set up a bank account that you chuck a little bit of money in each pay, name it "Pip's Account".......better than bullshit pet insurance. Thank me later.
Dougie. you are so right. Self insurance is possibly the best. I worked for some possibly "lucky multinationals". That self insured and won big time ! You just need discipline. A guy who quoted me some parts for a painters airless sprayer told me to tell them to bank 300 per year for repairs and that was a major win for them. Good advise !!!
Shit I see why she gave you the anti bionics!:wtfsmilie:
Ahhh I see what you mean now. No more beersies for me
Shouldn't drink bee rise with antis Tobis
Haha heres a wee story I found funny.
The vet said to keep an eye on her when she eats them there was two to make sure she ate them. One was a round pink thing the other looked like a puppy bikky. Any way she showed me how to force feed it while I was thinkimg yeah yeah I know what Pips like
Lock up time at 8.30 for Pip so before I take her out I get a small bowl put 4 bikkeyss in it then throw the pills in and watch her scoff it all up. The last one was one of he pills and she sat there trying her hardest to get it but her nose kept pushing it around haha. Got ther in he end anyway
Stick the pills in a piece of cheese.
