I had posted a picture of him before in the photo thread, but I feel a dog this good looking deserves his own page
Did a little write up of him here. Thoughts?

Never saw one on the Murray myself. Are they Australian?
can i have 1
Beautiful pooch mate, grew up with one as a kid "curly". They're great dogs, many years of happy hunting and good times together I'm sure.
Good write up too, I have seem them used on deer as well but the majority of the time it's been birds.
All the best mate

Cheers Jack, my flatmate had one when I lived in Vic, at the time I hated it because it was more versatile than my flash Harry versatile breed would take that dog out on ducks one day, sambar the next, saw it stop a pig once and was a dream to live with. Here I am ten years later with a dog from the same line as my old flatmates!
I liked the idea of a smaller breed for deer and duck, with a decent coat for warmth, in a darker colour so they don't stick out in the bush or in the maimai. I'd been looking hard at other retriever breeds but they are a bit of a minefield in terms of health and ability. No puffing and panting like some other retriever breeds too, and a fantastic trainable temperament. My mind kept going back to that curly, so I thought why not?

looks like what I imagined the result would be if I ever had a wire jump one of the cockers...
There's certainly a lot of spaniel traits going by his looks. But in terms of temperament he is definitely more retriever than spaniel
He better have stopped chewing on my shoes...
F-cking terrier....
I can't have your sparkly gold nike brothel creepers around here anyway. I've been getting funny looks
They are good for sprinting when the pimps are chasing you...
Number 3 for Gus, taken a few weeks ago just before his first birthday. Hoping for a spiker, but only hinds out with young fawns at foot so this one got it. Easy carry
