    Mighty Mix

Hi all. Has anyone else's dog gone off Mighty Mix frozen concentrate? My other dog who's been raised on Mighty Mix has lost interest in it. It is a new batch so I wonder there's something different in it? But in saying all this he is obsessed with Tux biscuits.

My girl still loves it. In saying that I have a new bag I’m just about to open so I I’ll let you know if she’s not into it

With my spoilt rotten lad, I have to keep changing his food (brand) every so often else he refuses to eat
but he has no problem eating Tux biscuits or Dentastix all day.

That’s why we changed to mighty mix. Tux was just too much and we worked out how much the dog eats per day and the cost difference was huge. If you have the freezer space for a 25kg bag as the big bag is cheaper then it worked out significantly cheaper. Dogs in better shape eating it then the tux too

Never used the concentrate but have done a few bags of the big square ones and the smaller slabs of biscuit. Got too expensive and as dog got older not so good for him either as got fat. Went to a age appropriate dried food, ( Ilams age health) and he is better for it. i always supplement the dry food with gound processed dog roll but use the less wet varieties such as possyum and chunky. i once worked in a dog food factory and I know whats in the wet rolls, so I guess its the same stuff in the dryier rolls but less water.

Edit the stuff in them is actually OK apart from the TVP (textured vegetable protein) they use to bulk it out and adds a tonne of free water. that they get to charge you for.

Feed your dog mighty mix frozen for a couple of weeks. Then weigh his shit for a few days.
Then feed him your brand of dry biscuits for a few days and weigh his shit.
That will give you a good idea of how much filler your dog doesn't utilise you are paying for.
    100%

My dogs shits are tiny now and she shits way less now she’s eating mighty mix, the kids are thrilled as their dog shit duty has halved. I’ve had to start shitting on the lawn to keep them occupied

How often do you all feed your dog raw food? Beef bones, rabbits, possums, etc?
My dog has been raised on royal canine, so I've kept him on it. Lately he hasn't been too keen on it. An Uncle owns a home kill a gave me a bag of beef bones. Today i gave him a chunk of brisket bone, with plenty of meat and fat. He loved it. Kept him busy and he hardly touched any kibble for the afternoon.
Uncle reckons the kibble makes your dog smell extra doggy and their shits also smell more, told me I need to feed him real meat to stop them smelling extra. Is there truth to this?
