    Yeah, someone sharper with dogs than myself would get their best years starting around 3. My fella did however start to settle around 3. He was alright on deer from 3 yrs but he had some issues. They were my fault not his.
    He was head strong, big and fast. Also even though he had a reasonably long attention span, I think he bored easily until he worked out for himself what we were up to.
    As he got older and wiser I found I could concerntrate more on what I was doing than worrying about him. It took a while to trust what he was telling me. I quickly learnt that he was a bit sharper than I was, when we were on to deer All of a sudden I started to be the reason we fluffed a few
