It is, as they say, a dog’s life.... Hours and hours and hours he spends on his pillow, upside down, in front of the fire.

You should see his face when I move the pillow into the laundry...

Then we found this young girl for sale on a Facebook page,11 month old American Bulldog / Mastiff cross, um yeah a bit bigger than we were planning on but after after a few good conversations with her owner and seeing a few videos of her we finally ran a quick road trip over the hill to Blenheim, introduced ourselves and our dog to this young bitch, and bought her home to join the tribe. She needs a fair bit of training and a name but both will come forthwith. She has a personality that made it impossible to say no to giving her a home.

Getting towards the end of her working life. One days hunting of 10km like yesterday and it takes her several days to recover. I'm the same.

Poor old girl. Maybe slow down a bit or make your trips a bit shorter if you can. I know the feeling, I can still work anyone at work under the table, but takes me days to recover now.
As long as she is still enjoying herself that's the main thing. Not good when you see their mind is willing but the body can't keep up.

A bit sad perhaps, but also pretty satisfying to see a dog live a happy and successful life.
