I won't admit to what channel I was watching to gain this info but I saw a cool little snippet (ha! pun!) about the hand weaving of tweed, super cool. I had always thought tweed was just the pattern, turns out I was wrong! Pretty cool stuff though...perfect for the country gentleman.
I once owned a tweed blazer purchased from the op shop to wear to my first A&P show in Chch, handling mini horses...gawd I am glad there aren't photos!!! :D
