    Pup WTD

Our old girl finally went to the big farm in the sky recently.
Since then, the neighbourhood cats have been discovering just how good our property is.
1 even tried to come inside the house the other night through the catflap. The Mrs cats heard it and all hell broke loose!! Sounded like a herd of stampeding elephants trying to exit the same door all at the same time while strangling an American Idol contestant.

Mrs wasn't wanting another woofer for a while, but my powers of persuasion have worked and she has agreed we NEED another.

I've had English Pointers and a GSP-X before.
Last 4 legged excuse for a dog (Whatthefcukdoyoucallthat breed) was a pound rescue the Mrs fell in love with, so she is having little or no say in what I get now.
Whatever we get, it has to be good for all sorts of hunting, as well as mobile toilet brush control.

I'm leaning towards a Lab, preferably a chocolate bitch, but a springer, vizsla or a GSP could be on the cards (Although I'd have to get a Tikka in 7mm08 with a Vizsla or a GSP eh? LOL).

Does anyone know of any pups available, or that will be in the near future?

Probably best, if any were available, if they are in the SI just to make it easier.

    Cheers guys.

About the only place in NZ you can get a chocolate that works really well is from Graeme Palmer in CHCH. His website

Normally I advise against chocolates, not usually great workers, but Graeme's do....

    All sorts lol.
Mainly deer and varmints at the moment, but I am getting into birds again.
Did quite a bit of pheasant shooting in the HB when I lived there, and really miss that here.

Sounds like a versitle dog would do the job (gsp , gwp ,vizsla). Not saying a lab wont , if you where chasing a lot of ducks then the labs go to the top of the pick in my eyes. Went for a walk with horriehunter and his vis was very impressed with that dog . Have inquired with gsp club for you, based in canterbury but covers S.I. well worth a look at a gsp ,will get back in a day or two.

Forget a springer for deer.. too noisy as a rule... (Not vocally... always shuffling, tail wagging in the leaves etc...) There's a few pheasants down the Rakaia...

On trademe there is a litter of Vizslas. The sire is Vizibility Copperfield who is the sire of my dog and he (the sire) is a full time hunting dog.

    Cheers for your help guys.

We've been put onto a Lab/GWP-X that we're going to get.

Will be a few weeks before we get her, but will put up some pics when we pick her up.
