It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

You're right there @rugerman . Looks all cute and cuddly but you soon realize your mistake as he is trying to chew your hand off at the wrist ...
Had we known just how similar it is to having a baby in the house regarding sleeping we might have thought twice but we are all adapting. And the house definitely looks like a disaster area now with toys and shredded cardboard every where . But we are learning alot about him and are starting to be able to read his moods etc which is making things easier. He also has figured out that certain places are for cuddles and relaxing such as our outside bench seat and when he has played himself out or had enough of training he grabs my hand and leads me to the seat for cuddles and quiet time. Smart little bugger.
And you have hit the nail on the head there @Mr Browning.
I'm not sure I was ever the alpha in this house and he has just underlined that fact. He rarely listens to a word I say just like the rest of the family so he has fitted in perfectly...![]()
born to hunt - forced to work
lol yeah FTX I remember a couple of my fluff making dogsI suggest small stuffed critters so there isn't a crapload of fluff to pick up each time. I used to get a few from the op shops or sallies at 2 bucks each, and after he's ripped the fluff out and finished playing with the carcass, chuck it out and get ready to introduce the next one.
Let him have his fun for a while, but eventually you will want him to know who the boss is before he gets big and still thinks he rules the roost. It can lead to a huge amount of chaos and a few behavioural problems. Around feeding time is a good time to remind him where the food is coming from and just who gives it and can take it away too.
I think owning a pup is the reverse of flying a plane, huge amounts of chaos and brief amounts of boredom
Oh and I would think it's worse than having a baby, since this baby is self mobile and can chew holes in things no worries![]()
You could be in trouble if your wife thinks he is that much cuter than you...
I have been meaning to catch up, might have to come visit and meet the young fella.
A gathering and dog socialising event up the hill?

i will stick with dogs not kids thanks
Check puppys had all its jab's before getting out an about (I say this with out knowing how old Remmy is), Parvo is a basterd.
We only give our dogs all their inital shots/boosters and thats it. They don't get anymore as they will never need to go into boarding kennels but thats our risk and all us owners are different.
Quite right @mikee. He has only had his first shot and due second in 2 weeks and third mid March so we are house bound at the moment unfortunately .
But any of you guys are welcome to drop by anytime for a beer/coffee and a chat whenever and have a limb gnawed on by remmy . You've all got my number....
And we're not limited to pizza .
Got fallow in the freezer and a BBQ ......
Perhaps we should make a plan if you lot are keen ?
How about you @veitnamcam ?

With the jabs I think is better to be safe than sorry especially as its your "first". For us we just get on with it but avoid places like the back beach. Izzy was out with us from day one but that was a risk we were comfortable with.
Looking forward to see the pup develop. You will soon be wondering how you lived with out a dog for so long, they bring a new dimention to everything
Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them;
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride;
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy;
Take naps;
Stretch before rising;
Run, romp, and play daily;
Thrive on attention and let people touch you;
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do;
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass;
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree;
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body;
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk;
Be loyal;
Never pretend to be something you're not;
If what you want lies buried, dig and keep digging until you find it;
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
