    R.I.P. Harley

Sadly this afternoon we took the decision to put our Great Dane Harley to rest. We have placed him in the shade of a tree, near the sound of a running stream where the sound of running deer will be often heard.

Good dog, better friend. Harley was much loved and will be sadly missed by our family.
    Tim and petree like this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Never easy, ran over my little mate 5mths ago absolutly gutted. Have got another, different breed called it Tilly as We hope, and she does lite up our lives. Took 2mnths to decide to get another and what breed. Judging on your obvious love of Harley, there is definitly another dog out there that needs a owner like you. With my repects.

So sorry to hear about Harley. I had to put my dog down over a year ago and I still miss the big girl. They take a bit of your heart when you lose them.

Thanks guys (and guyettes (Dougie)) I appreciate your kind thoughts. We just couldn't watch the big bugger going down hill any longer even though the medication was helping. He had a tumor in his bladder and his liver failed this morning. We took him for a last walk across a couple of paddocks, let him fool around in the pond, half heartedly worry a couple of Parries, eat some crap he found and then while we sat with him in the sunshine the vet administered the overdose. There is some small consolation in that he was doing the stuff he enjoyed.
