RIP Tilly
My beautiful Tilly was euthanised on Monday. 4 weeks short of being 13. 252 deer with me.
She has spent 5 weeks in the backyard recovering from paralysis in the hind legs which only very marginally improved. Sadly the prognosis was for no more improvement and very limited mobility. RIP Tilly.

@Tahr, she was blessed to have you as her owner and you to have her as your hunting companion and buddy.
You gave her a fantastic life.
-
The worst news.
So sorry to hear this but you have made the best decision for her.
RIP Tilly.

Condolences mate, I know that at the moment things are pretty raw, but know that Tilly lived the best life, and
I bet given the chance, she wouldn’t change a moment.

@Tahr. I can imagine your grief and you and family have my deep sympathy. Try to keep the grief managed and determine to locate a suitable pup. A good pup with potential will soften the times ahead. Take it easy man.
RIP Tilly.

Sad to hear Tilly has moved on B, your posts of hunts spent with Tilly were one of the major factors in me deciding to get my pup and train him on deer. I'm sure she inspired plenty of others also.

I'm so sorry to hear this Tahr

:( Tilly was a legend in her own life
-
Sorry to hear the sad news, take it easy and reflect on the great times together
-
Sorry to hear that Thar,
I remember when you got her as a pup and posted about her training and progress on the hnf forum and I enjoyed following her/your progress together,
Tilly had a great owner and would have seen more of the country than most people, you have given her a great life. Its never easy to let them go, a dogs love of their owner is unconditional.
-
Sad news Bruce, she was one hell of a dog by all accounts
-
Aw mate that is terrible news :(
She had a great life but that is of little consequence at the moment, and no matter how many times it is said to me when I lose a mate, it never really helps until many months later. The more time you spend together, the harder it is when they leave.
Best wishes to you and the family at this difficult time Tahr

My condolecences Bruce. I've followed her from the very start on the old forum, it's been a remarkable journey. The thing in my mind that sticks out the most is that her entire hunting career has been documented. It really cleared the air in terms of game numbers a passionate hunter can expect to shoot over a dog in its life. Prior to Tillys arrival there was so many bullshit stories of tally over a dog. So thank you both for setting the record straight. Rest easy Tilly.
-
It is always tough to lose a good dog as they are part pf the family. My commiserations
-
Bruce, my sincerest condolences mate.
Never an easy decision to make and if your anything like me there is no justifying it, I felt so guilty when we made the decision to end our old girls suffering even though it was the kindest and most compassionate thing to do.
No shame in admitting I blubed like a child when she left us to deal with her passing.
I've said it before but I'll repeat it, she may only be a part of your life but you were all of Tilly's life.
They leave a big hole in your heart and a lump in your throat.
Hope you enjoy the memories for years to come mate. Thank you for sharing her with us all.
Rest in peace sweet Tilly

Sad news mate. A beautiful deer tally and a good looking dog
-
wow that sucks. Its a very hard time when you loose your special little mate.
Take pride though man. She was obviously a fantastic dog.
She had a great life doing what she loved. And she was loved and looked after by you and your family.
A dog couldnt really want for anything else.
Hard to let them go, but its the ultimate act of love and affection for your dog to let them go.
RIP Tilly. You are missed more than you will ever know.
-
