Thread: Stories about your hunting experiences with your dogs

I recently offerred to edit the Pointer Setter Magazine.

I've got the first one out but for the next issue I would like to have stories of your hunting exploits with your dogs.

I was thinking mainly pointer and setter (obviously) but all anecdotes would be welcomed - and photos too.

My original plan was to feature the GSP/GWP in the next issue.

I had forgotten about the Brittany being an HPR. Would you be willing to do something about your breed and perhaps your experiences out hunting with them?

And Pointer has a number of breeds to choose from :-)

I could probably tell you a few yarns about a dog called Zen but may have heard those already

@HF1, the Epagneul Breton is the real HPR...the rest are mere imposters...

Great idea Corrine. Would be good to read dog stories from the non-trial bird hunters. There is plenty to be learnt from them...

Everyone has said it is a great idea but no one has contacted me yet.

Some Brittany owners have said they will come up with something and I hope they do it soon otherwise I will be trying to pack, sell my house and move all around the time the magazine is due out! (Packing - urgh!)

Chop3R - any stories about Motiti Zen would be welcome and you could possibly mention how Bo Diddley (Sh Ch Gaben von Hundeluft) taught you to snap shoot deer :-) I'm not sure if I still have photos but perhaps.

Petros - perhaps your experiences of choosing and training an Irish?

Pointer - all suggestions welcomed.

Ruff - I would appreciate anything you can come up with. It might be the Pointer Setter mag but I'm not averse to show casing other breeds.

Any ideas for the magazine are welcome. The next one is coming together quite nicely so far.

I have a great article about the Brittany written by the Hills in the South Island.

Everyone else has been conspicuously quiet
