I have always left all my animals intact and had 2 entire males ( a 50kg Rottie and Huntaway) at the same time. No worries or problems if you teach them what is what. Dogs don't care if they are "top" dog or lower down the peaking order. What they don't like is an uncertain arrangement where the owner is sometime the boss and sometimes not. If there is uncertainty the dog will want to fill the vacant top spot and you will get the same old story of dog growling or biting the owner or kids, misses etc...
Oh and a vasectomy is way different from a neuter when the balls and hence testosterone production is gone. If behaviours ( like roaming etc...) are already established, removing nuts will do nothing for that.
I love it when the vets say "it will stop testicular cancer", or stop some problems from happening. If it's that good why don't people get their kids snipped to stop them getting "problems" later.
