    torn shoulder ligaments

Claude my vizsla/lab/? picked up a limp that wouldn't go away so had him to the vet today .for x rays. he's 6 years old now and was worried it was early arthritis from an old injury. turns out he's torn the ligaments in his shoulder that connect the shoulder blade to upper leg. good news is that there is no sign of any bone damage or damage to the cup (lack of fluid in joint though) bad news is they said 3-6 month recovery with him not running etc. not the best of timing to be out with injury. poor bugger doesn't like being left at some and seeing the you.ng dog going in the truck next to my pack.
anyone else had this injury with their dogs? how was the road to recovery?

Luckily no, but a good mate has. While the one leg was down, the work goes into the other leg, he blew that one also within a year of the first. Vet reckons that was a common outcome. Hopefully you fare better!

One of my dogs did it last year. 3 months off and he was good as gold, hunted hard out all bird season with no problems.
