    TT15 Mini

Hey team. Recently decided to consolidate my GPS and inreach etc into the alpha 200i unit and want to get a collar for Bo. I've watched quite a few reviews where despite the advertised difference in range between the TT15 and the Mini most seem to think they both perform about the same with the Mini just having a reduced battery life.
Has anyone here got both and agrees/disagrees with that?
I keep Bo in close when actively hunting but could be good to send him tracking a shot animal etc and be able to see where he is on the unit, be handy on the farm also as he does go on big adventures by himself sometimes, we have 700ha and surrounding bush and forestry so he can go off quite far at times, being able to call him back silently etc using vibrate I can also see the benefit in.
Any dealers worth buying the collar from before I just buy one from the big green building? I've also heard they can be sent off for "reinforcing" and a better aerial etc, who does this work? Any help or thoughts appreciated. Cheers

I borrowed a mini as our pointer is quite little but ended up buying the std TT5 & (TT15) because I like the longer battery life and the mini did not really fit right round her neck.

    I brought straight off Garmin-NZ

There are some tricks with ducktape which help but Im guessing Bo is not a pig dog so you should be fine. Dogs hurtling under wire fence wreck a lot.
I have become quite good at fixing them but only for friends as they are time consuming to do

    Oh and in my case
When the collar beeps thats the recall for Izzy and Short Vibration is change direction / look at me ( bird hunting)
Its nice have a recall that works at distance without whistling yourself silly or calling when its windy etc

I got both, For a full days hunting dark to dark they both seem about the same, Just change the update rate to a slower time will improve battery life for the day, even with lights turned on for the trip out it's still seems to have plenty left in it. Range wise I have not compared as my boy stays with in 600m but the std collar can pick up to 3k away in the native, Just get high enough. The beep recall is good too. If you lived closer I'd chuck you mine to try... Google Dog Master as they do all you need, collars repairs armour etc

Thanks for the thoughts and advice guys. I ended up taking Bo to town and we tried on both collars and I ended up going with a normal TT15 as the mini sat a bit funny and the aerial sort of poked out sideways a bit, salesman said they've had a bit of feedback along those lines where guys have bought the mini for larger dogs, possibly same experience as @mikee ? . Bo is only 12 months old at the moment so probably has a bit more growing to do also

@Ryan_Songhurst, you can make your collar a little more resilient with some MacGyver tape like this which is easily replaced when needed

Then you need a Garmin Watch like this, so when you are hunting you can leave the controller in your pack

My wee girl is 20kgs dripping wet and the full size collar does not look too out of place
