Thread: Weimaraner's

Gday Team, I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has experience hunting with a Weimaraner, mainly as a pointer/deer dog.
We have some friends overseas who we have just been to visit and they are using a Weimaraner as a pointer with great success on Axis deer, I did notice one of their younger dogs had a very strong prey drive, he never sat still even around the house and was always watching anything that moved, they said that this was a trait with their dogs that had to be addressed before taking them into the field as they could become distracted very easy, would this be a common observation with them? Or maybe just the bloodline they have?
The mrs has been thinking of getting a puppy at some stage and She was pretty taken by our friends dogs so this could be a good chance for me to kill two birds with one stone, she gets a cute puppy, and i get a new hunting buddy.
