Hi Guys,
We have now released our new range of suppressor muzzle brake caps that will attached to any mk2 dpt suppressor (excluding the ultra magnum currently)
Currently 30cal and 7mm available, other calibers to follow next week.

What sort of difference would there be in noise with one of these compared to the standard end cap configuration?
We don't have db numbers yet, but it definitely is a little bit louder for the shooter, the less baffles used the louder it gets.Quote:

Timing is not required, there are 3 ports around the circumference, 9 ports in total, so it doesn’t matter where they end up.Quote:

We will test this out as soon as we can.

lots of us fitted suppressors to look after our hearing and that of the dogs....how does this new gadget fit in with that hearing consideration in mind???
Typically you can’t spot your shot with a suppressor, mainly because most people put them on a short barrel which has more blast and muzzle flip. A muzzle brake yiu can spot your shot piece of piss. The concept of a brake on a suppressor would be a medium between both

Maybe it's not for you then :ORLY:....try shooting a lightweight big magnum with a stout load you'll want all the recoil reduction you can get. With any type of brake it's a trade off and a braked suppressor is no different, yes it is slightly louder than an un braked suppressor but it's a shit tone quieter than a brake and more effective at reducing recoil than a standard suppressor. But this also comes at the cost of extra muzzle forward length, not much but a little.Quote:

I have bought one for a Tikka 7mm RM. Have videod the results in one take of me shooting it with no suppressor, just the suppressor and then lastly the suppressor with the brake fitted. It's been so long since I've posted a photo or video though that I can't remember how to post them. To be honest it's hard to see the difference on video. Anyway, as you'd expect the recoil was reduced with each change. Quite noticeably by the time I got the suppressor/brake combo on.
Importantly muzzle jump was really tamed. At 100 yards through a Leupold VX5 on 15 power I never lost sight of the target during the shot whereas with just the suppressor I'd lose sight of it with the muzzle jump. This would happen on deer in the field also so I'm looking forward to being able to watch the hit again on the next deer.
I ditched the earmuffs and fired one shot with just the suppressor and one with the suppressor/brake combo. Noise is definitely higher with the brake set up which was to be expected. It's hard to say just how loud it was. I was shooting from under a shelter at the range and so that makes things a bit louder. My gut says it was still quieter overall than an unsuppressed rifle.

We recently did some sound testing and found that swapping out the front baffle for a brake made the sound roughly 3 dB louder. This increase is similar to what you'd get by running our suppressor with two fewer baffles.

After watching the youtube clip above i ordered mine yesterday :)
Slung 30 rounds through my 300PRC fitted with a braked mk2 DPT magnum suppressor seriously what a pussycat to shoot, previous owner warned me it was a handful even with a suppressor (wasn't braked) he had even scoped himself a couple times.
Today's efforts were all shot prone only trigger hand on the rifle and not loaded up on the bipod, absolute dream to shoot the big boomer.
Good noise reduction, amazing recoil reduction, seriously I'd let my 12 year old daughter shoot it.
Less recoil than my old rem mag With another brand braked suppressor.

I'd happily line up and shoot another 30 or 40 or 50 rounds (if I wasn't paying for the ammo) no sore shoulder no flinch.
Oddly i seemed to shoot 1 MOA out to the right with the muzzle brake end cap on, took it off and went back to the normal end cap and was bang on target again?
I see they have brakes for the MK1 suppressor now...cant wait to get one.

I shot my 28 nosler at a 1000yrds 10 days ago. I had previously zeroed the rifle at 100m bang on, with the suppressor with brake.
First round was within 10cm of a clay target despite the terrible wind we had that day.
The rest of the couple of 3 shots groups I shot were in that vicinity.
Anyway after a cooling down period, one of the guys at the range wanted to test the brake.
So I set him up behind the rifle, and removed the brake , leaving the suppressor effectively with 3 baffles and a 4 th open baffle ( not recommended to do that of course , don’t do that at home)
His first round was right next to the clay he was aiming at. Once I put the brake back on he was still on the money.( at a 1000yrds)
Of course that could be a fluke and more testing needs to be done with other rifles, but that does increase my confidence in the rifle I put together and how the brake interacts with the whole system.
Hi, any idea what would happen if you added an extra baffle, and the muzzle break, in pace of normal end cap? Would you expect the sound increase to be less than the 3 decibels in the test tween muzzle break and no muzzle break? Thanks
The difference is hardly noticeable atleast once small stuff and the firther away from the muzzle the brake is the less effective it usually is with recoil.Quote:
