I can attest to that. We (Wanganui) were 1 of the trial brigades with APR Filters. There ok but they're hard work to wear, you know you've been wearing 1 after half an hour. They're to be worn whenever conducting overhaul until deemed safe by testing with Multi Gas Detector, or any situation of heavy smoke presence, such as rural fire. Not to be worn in place of BA.
I cant see there will be mass resignations but it remains unclear what the current Rural role will be.
Its not going to be all beer and skittles thats fore sure. Devil will be in the detail.
I believe they are looking at a better alternative
