    Euro mount reds

A fisherman acquaintance, who fishes some of the same local rivers as me also happens to be a taxidermist, for the princely sum of 3 sika back legs, he converted these 2 heads into a couple of euro mounts. I just have to mount them to plaques so they can go on the wall.

    From these 2 velvets

    To these two, a 13 and 9.

Yep that’s a nice job. Like it when the skull cut is done right like this.

FWIW I have found a coat of Danish oil on antlers (avoid the tips and gladwrap what you don't want to stain) and then when dry, sand the pearling with a fairly fine sandpaper and then using the 3m type scotch pads between ridges to knock back some shine works really well for the antlers. Although I would probably only use that one on euro mount.
