Thanks guys. Good to know who to avoid as well as who to use. I think I posted a photo a year or so back but can't find it now. Thing is I'm moving to Chch in 2 weeks and unlikely to ever get a better sambar so thought I'd get it done.

My Sika is with him now, workshop isn't as tidy as Ruahine tanning and taxidermy, but I've seen three of his mounts that were done for mates and they were very good.Quote:

A lot of guys at my nzda use tasman taxidermy. Brett is usually pretty good.
Vern Pearson does a great job, brother in laws Sambar and Rusa come out mint.

I don't know Craig Fergusson very well at all, he's tanned a couple of skins for me and did a good job. To add a different perspective to the comments on his service as of late: I called in to pick up a skin a while back (1-2 years ago?) and he was really stressed - his wife was in the process of dying of cancer and he was her primary care giver.
