Been drying and seeping oil for awhile so it was time for some serious sanding then a nice clear coat and a binding, should do the trick

How long did it take to stop the oil seeping from it @2Quack? I've had one for 20+ years now and it still seems very oily. Have heard you can soak them in formaldehyde or something to leach the oil out?
Nice effect the sanding and binding.

Shearer, This one had been in a freezer for about 2 years then in a garage for about 3
I found once you got stuck in sanding with an orbital sander and 80 grit, which is painfully slow due to the dried skin and oil, the bone itself was quite dry and then sanded nicely with 800 then 1200. Getting through the gunk on the surface was the hardest. Formaldehyde would work I’d say but 20 years aging would be suffice, give it a sand I say
