What to start a youth off on

So one of the boys has expressed an interest in archery which is cool me never having done it but possibly get into it myself don't know much about it so I was thinking about starting him off on a budget recurve to see how he goes we aren't millionaires so will be starting off on a budget shows this sound

I got a recurve off Markus at Archery park in Nelson. $300 for bow, 6 arrows and a stringer. Best bit about it is that he does a limb exchange where you can start of at say 25lbs and when you want to go to a higher wight he will swap the limbs for $30 (assuming your old ones are in good nick). They are a take down so easy to transport too.
Also @Ryan_Songhurst has recently bought a recurve.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Is he lefthanded? if so there is a spare recurve bow round here he can have to learn with. Its 28lb pull from memory so might be too strong if he's only 12 or something.

I would just take him to some archery club and use their gear and see how he develops and progresses.
At the same time you will get the idea of whats what in the archery field.
