Looking at getting one of these Turk made pistols, seem to have good reviews online. Anyone on the forum own one?

My advice for what its worth
.
If you want it as a curio to shoot and show people "hey have a look at this..." then buy it.
If you are new to pistol shooting and have a limited budget, and are never going to compete, buy it.
If you are new to shooting and want to be semi competitive at least , then follow the herd and get what everyone else is using, other people will then be able to advise you on a whole array of things from reloading for it to where to buy the best holster / mag holders / belts / sights / springs, and other expendables.
Unless the top shooters in the US switch to this gun ( any gun really ) then resale will be difficult ( everyone will be buying CZ or 1911 clones still )
Thanks John,
I will not be competition shooting, just plinking and probably fit into the poor bracket, but have done enough pistol shooting to know what I want out of a handgun.
Value for money. People still want silly money for second hand guns with unknown round counts. This model was a good price, came with some nice accessories and after watching 20+ YouTube reviews I decided to go for it. At $695, I don't really care about re-sale.
Got the Canik from Arsenal NZ, who were quick and easy to deal with.
After comparing the Canik to a Beretta 92, a Glock 17 & my bro's Walther PPQ, there doesn't seem to be much in it as far as quality, but time will tell.
Next job is to try her out with a few different breeds of ammo.
Why on earth would anyone in this country buy a striker fired 9mm pistol that's not even on the IPSC Production Division List?
To shoot Standard minor?
The Op did say he wasn't into competition. I have a couple guns that I would never compete with. (hardly competitive with what I use now) Just fun guns. Will likely get a few more when I can afford it. I would like to get what I use as a carry but they cost a bit more than any good production gun.
We're you at the NI ipsc Champs held just recently?
A few of us forum members that were there, were were discussing how we were genuinely wanting to meet you.
We all agreed that you would be a likable fella, face to face.
The topic of what your possible vocation is, come up with some doozies I admit.
If you are going to the SI champs in Dunedin come over and say hello. A couple of us will be in the standard squad.
It would be good to put another face to a forum member.

Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
@FRST glad to hear you are going in to it with eyes wide open.
Heck, I'm buying a CZ P10C as soon as they're in NZ just coz I want the fun of shooting it. Good enough reason I reckon.
This model has been approved for IPSC Production Division.
Welcome aboard @Arsenal.
Hi, how did the Canik TP9 SF go? Thinking of buying one. Came across this thread while researching for it in google. Just looking for a cheap striker fired production pistol. This one looks pretty good on paper.
This will help get to the right person.
