Question Looking for a Pistol Club Near Hatfields Beach – Recommendations Welcome!

    Hi everyone,

I’m interested in joining a pistol club and am currently based near Hatfields Beach. I’m relatively new to the sport and am looking for a local club where I can train, practice, and meet fellow enthusiasts.

Does anyone know of any pistol clubs in or around the Hatfields Beach area? Any recommendations on clubs that are welcoming to newcomers or have good training programs would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hatfields would be Warkworth Pistol Club. there are a few others in the greater Auckland area. All pistol clubs will have established training systems and will welcome new starters.

Yep Warkworth would be your best bet.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Thanks for the input. I heard there’s also one in Riverhead or Dairy Flat. Is anyone familiar?

    Just checked Warkworth Pistol Club:
Please note that as from 14/4/19 we are currently:

I am a member of the Omni Target Club. The club subleases the NZDA 25 metre range and meets 26 times a year (roughly every fortnight). You could contact the club secretary regarding membership on omnitargetclub@gmail.com

Your best bet would be if Auckland Shooting Club gets its pistol certification again. It will be 7 days a week open in Makarau and no problem joining. I'm just not sure where they are at with it as they were having to go back through applying for resource consent after much being shafted by council and Police.

If they get it back it will develop into a substantial club.

Have a look at the Clubs page on the Pistol NZ website. Navy pistol club might work for you. Also possibly Alpha Pistol Club. Email contacts are on the aforementioned page.

And though it will be a right nuisance to get to, Howick Pistol Club runs their tyro training at 7pm on Tuesdays and is a good training club to get you your B endorsement.
