Pistol Carbine Conversion Kit - Pro’s and Con’s

I have always derived a great deal of pleasure participating in three gun and multi gun activities however of late I am really not enjoying participating as much as I did back prior to 2020 and I have reached the realisation that it is because I am now using a .22 for the rifle element of the competitions.

I am now considering whether I should get a PCCK but before I proceed further with this I thought I would seek out the thoughts of users here on the forum to get their opinions as to the good and the bad of using one. I would be inclined to use a Glock 17 so am particularly interested to learn about PCCK’s compatible with that.

Have at it guys. Warts and all!

I had a Roni Gen1 that i imported way back when (wasn't a 'part' at the time and as such under the then rules police declined a PTI so you can imaging the emails to customs...another story!).

I had great fun with it and was surprisingly accurate for a good while - probably 3 to 4 thousand rounds. As mentioned above the 32 round mags were a hoot.

Over time it got slacker in securing the G17 and accuracy dropped from about 1 to 2 inches to 3 to 4 @ 30 metres so i used the opportunity of the buy back to get more than twice i paid for it from Israel.

Would I get another? Yes if the Gen 2's were more solid and the longevity was improved. It was an itch and a hell of a fun one for a while.

Rushy I saw something that reminded me of a slimey little weasel state on TV that those things were just plain evil and had no place in our society.
So if that little wanker reckons they are no good, you better get one.

Yep, all things considered it is just a hunk of aluminium but the numpties are so scared of them they now need to have a serial number and a permit to possess. I am certainly headed down the path to getting one. Just need my missus to put her Minister of Finance hat on and spring me some Shekels.

I was running timer for some of the PCC shooting at South Island Speed steel comps in Alexandra last weekend.
Watching quick guys getting first round on a plate in 0.45 seconds for under 3 second stages was pretty cool.

I witnessed Shane Wills do a sub two seconds at our club. I believe he was the National title holder at the time but he even shocked himself with that string.

Well it has taken over a month but finally the second hand RONI that @Wingman highlighted above is mine despite the best endeavours of the FSA to make the acquisition a great, deal more difficult than it really needed to be. A big shout out to the proprietors of Shooter Ready in Cambridge who bore with me while I navigated the temporary road blocks of frustration.

Got it home this afternoon, added a foregrip and red dot and then zeroed the bugger. In the end I removed the cheek riser as the low profile red dot was a challenge for me with it on. Knocked the nuts off a passing blow fly at twenty five metres which is good enough for this old man.

Put a different optic on it today and reinstated the cheek riser.
