    Shadow gets a makeover

Pistol section is a bit quiet so I thought I would add little something.

After recently seeing some other peoples variations with their SP-01 Shadow cosmetics and internals at the SI IPSC champs, I decided to give my one, a slight makeover.

I stripped the frame and sent it off to Stu at Greystone to get a "Tungsten" cerekote finish. It took him just over a week and from the pic he sent me it looks pretty good to me.
Other stuff he has done for me has lasted perfectly so I am hoping it will be more robust than the factory dual tone coating.

When I get home next week I will be fitting a lighter sear and trigger spring, a comp/lighter hammer and new and lighter return/recoil spring. I have worked the sear and hammer a little as well.
I also made sure I bought a spare slide stop and will get another when I can find one.

I was going to go for thinner grips but after trying some I think I prefer the standard rubber ones.
Hoping to put it thru its paces on Saturday and see if the trigger work and hammer were worth the effort.

Very cool. Must get my B.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Does that put you out of Production? You will be shooting your 40 from now on in comps....?

Looks good. Should still be Production, provided the double action pull is still 5.5lb (I think) and the hammer etc is a OFM part.

I've found, like others, that the black coating on the slide is rubbing off from my holster.

We have a mini match this coming Sunday.....

Yup. Will still be production legal.
    All parts are OFM.
    Wouldn't do it otherwise.
Keen to come to CHCH for a shoot sometime.

Found this in the Production section of the rules:
Modifications to them, other than minor detailing (the removal of burrs and/or adjustments unavoidably required in order to fit replacement OFM parts or components), are prohibited. Other prohibited modifications include those which facilitate faster reloading (e.g. flared, enlarged and/or add-on magwells, etc.), changing the original color and/or finish of a handgun, and/or adding stripes, stippling or other embellishments.

Wouldn't the refinishing take it out of production?

Are you going to keep the Para once the DVC gets here?

Haven't thought about it to be honest.

But you can have first option if I sell it.
Been told the DVC is going to be a wee while getting here.

I like production but I shoot my Para straighter and faster than my shadow and I have no idea why.
Had a go with a DVC and I was hooked.

    All back together.
Mods are noticable. Trigger has improved both DA and SA.
Lighter return spring seems to reduce any dip in the muzzle when returning to battery.

Full mag shot at 20 yrds
