    Striker pistols for production

Hi folks just doing some homework on behalf of a mate who isn't a forum member.

    So.

He's starting the probationary period shortly ish and with that is the sort of person who likes to have their own gear and he has a few contacts who will do a transfer with a pinky etc.

    So with that said he's wanting to know;
For a striker fired 9mm for production class what options for sub 2k would be a good start?

Obviously Glock comes to mind but I was leaning towards pointing him at things like H&K vp9's or Beretta APX's?

    Cheers folks

CZ Shadow, or Shadow 2 or Tanfo.

Don't bother with a striker fired gun, especially a less common one, as you'll have trouble finding holsters, mags and spare parts.

Springfield XDM fits your friends criteria for striker sub 2K
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Smith and weson m&p 9 is another pistol that would fit the bill and is popular enough to get holsters etc, personally out of them I would probably go glock or xdm though.

Cz p-10 is highly reviewed but I have never seen one, bit more pricy to.

P 10F if I was going striker and wanted a light gun but as Ozzy said probably too new yet for parts and stuff.
Cant beat a Cz for value imo. I'm thinking of a production optics toy and will go P10F, Sig but will most likely go an optics ready or standard shadow 2 and get it milled.

If you are after a plastic pistol popular flavours at the moment are SIG X5 or Walther, although you do feel a bit ripped on the pricing in NZ for these and you have the option of easily dropping an optic on top if you want to from the factory. Have'n t seen any trigger kits turn up in NZ for X5 yet though.
Alternatively Glock with trigger kit upgrade like a Zev, XDM with a Powder River trigger upgrade or the M & P with an Apex trigger upgrade.
Try to follow what the yanks are doing with the production pistols and not such a good idea to stray too far, the main ones will have all the drop in improvements that make them good pistols and stay inside criteria.

Alternatively a CZ or 2nd hand Tangfolio, both nice pistols and what most would use in production ipsc but one thing I didn't like that could pick a hole in the CZ is the slack, take-up on the trigger. You sort of have to prep it a fair bit.

I’d be very interested to learn how that goes for you.

You are probably correct as the magazines are 13 round.
