I did the 2nd option and just bought two dovetail mounts to suit the different red dot footprints in case I changed sights in the future. The only benefit I see from this is if you don’t currently have adjustable rear sight you get the whole lot for not much more than an adjustable sight costs for the factory dovetail.

I don't think the adjustable rear sight is included - just the (sight) plate. I don't think my eyes would go back to iron sight but if I did, I might need to fork out for a new rear (adjustable) sight if the stock one ends up different height on the new plate.

The benefit of a cut vs dovetail mount to me, is with slide cut the red dot sits lower, ie closer to bore line, but I might just be nick picking there.
