    Defiance Hunter 300 Norma magnum

    The 30 cals have been popular lately and this is one of three 30's Dean has just finished for me and is down south with its new owner
    thanks @The Claw for the pics


    The 300 Norma paired with the Lapua brass is a great combo and is pushing the 225 ELD-M's at 2990 FPS using 2225.

    It was made to be scratched Tony! I was meant to be on the West Coast tahr hunting with it last week but the weather had other ideas... I'm sure it would have come back from there with a few scratches

    Nice build.

    Interesting i just run the ballistics on the 225 eldm 30 cal at that speed, and the windage at 1000 yards is exactly the same as the 195gr Berger 7mm at 3100 fps from my 28 Nosler, and also exactly the same as a 300gr Berger at 2850 fps from say a 338 Edge.

    Obviously, the 300 Norma will have a way better barrel life than the 28 Nosler, and the 225 gr eldm should be considerably less recoil than the 300gr from the 338. Very interesting.

    really light for the barrel contour a. nice work Claw. Enjoy it in the rough stuff, good to hear you intend on using it as a rifle not a safe piece.
