Defiance Rebel 7mm SAUM

Got this one finished up and load sorted for the customer before the whole COVID 19 hit luckily, another build by Dean Maisey and is the second build for this customer :cool:


He also managed to get a few deer before we went into lock down also.

Very nice set up. What powder, pills r u running & speed out of the 20in bbl?

Thanks mate it was one i could have easily hung onto, current load is 168 Berger VLD Hunting and RL26, it is doing 2900 FPS.

After a few shots through her she has sped up a bit, great accurate little banger. 3 shots bloody near touching at 510m this morning

Recently had my Model 7 SAUM rebarrelled pretty much same but 22in, and got it back a few weeks prior to this lock down shite hitting, but had to park it as had roar hunt plans to sort. 3 days into a 10 day hunt in Sth Is high country we had to pull the pin and get home.
So now got some time to work up loads for the SAUM using RL23 and Hyb100V with 160-162 gn pills.
Have thought about RL26 and slightly heavier pills, but can’t find anything about loads. If you be able to point me in the right direction for starting loads that would be much appreciated :thumbsup:

Yea that bloody sucks!
Well cam done mine for me before I grabbed it and settled on 63.6 of RL26

Whats the rifle weight Pongo?

That’s a beautiful rifle. If I was to build one rifle as a custom to do everything, that setup there would fit the bill.

That's the whole point of this one, only have it and a 22 mag now. 168vld at 2900 has plenty of sting

@Stocky I did weigh it but cant find where i wrote it down, it is bloody light i can tell you that :thumbsup:

Just looked back at messages, its 3.6kgs with suppressor and vx6
