    Lone Peak Titanium 6.5 PRC

Another awesome lightweight build from the last run, I have only just managed to get a few pics of it as it was straight out the door as the new owner couldn't wait to get their hands on it for some reason

The 6.5 PRC is proving to be a very popular choice for builds lately with plenty more in the pipeline.

    Specs are as per below:

    Lone Peak Razor Ti action
Manners EH3 in Elite Tac Moola with flush cups to right hand side
Proof Carbon Sendero Light 1:7.5 twist at finished 22"
    Atec Optima 45 Suppressor
    Triggertech Special Trigger
    Hawkins BDL
    Hawkins Rings
    Leupold VX5HD in Mils

What is the deal with this 6.5 prc carry on anyway? What actually is it? does it have wheels like a .264 Win Mag or 6.5 Wby? Been hearing it's name lately and wondered what it's point was, anyone want to help out?

No belt, little more efficient and quite a bit less powder for not a lot less speed than a 264wm
Not quite as quick so not as hard on barrels
Generally done with slightly quicker twist barrels than a 264wm so can go for the slightly heavier ballistically better projectiles which makes up for the little bit slower speed out further.
Not a lot in it by the looks
If you didn't have a 6.5 of any sort or preference it wouldnt be a bad thing
If you wanted to start from scratch and do a 264wm in a 18 twist it would be a different ball game

@257weatherby its a nice new modern designed cartridge that fits in a short action (just) low recoil and doesn't burn a truckload of powder to get good velocity out of the high BC projectiles and is well supported with brass, dies and factory ammo.

Plenty more info on it on the web

Been having a look at this PRC carry on, seems to boil down to the 6.5 Creedmoor vs .260 Rem thing, the Rem was first, a wildcat for a long time, a little more go than the Creedmoor but not real support from factory, then the Creedmoor got developed, widely available ammo and rifles and is going to kill the .260 off because of factory support.

The PRC is vs the 6.5 Saum, not quite the same capacity and a little shy on velocity against the Saum, but factory support for ammo and rifles will mean it will kill off the Saum in the same way.

It's a go fast 6.5 in a small package, but I still got a soft spot for the 6.5 Swede.

Nice build by the way @camo wsm

Sure does seem good as an efficient round. What a great build, did you get a chance to put on the scales?

    Bare it's 2.65kg (or 5lb 13oz). Suppressor is around 320g. All up (scoped and suppressed) it's about 3.55kg (7lb 13oz).

Pushing 156gr Berger EOL's at 2,900 fps. Just cruising but very accurate and not hard on anything other than animals

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more
