Best hunting torch in NZ guaranteed under $200 range

    Hi all,

Night photos and video yet to be taken

    https://www.piercingthedarkness.co.n...am-c8-v2-white

Just released my upgraded model of my Osram C8+ using a new Osram led. The previous V1 outputs 700 lumens, this V2 bumps that up to 1300. Same range of 915m spec but twice the area of coverage

$90 on special until the 19th

If it clears up later tonight I'll go out and take a video to upload.

The reason why I'm so cheap compared to the competition is because I enjoy bringing you all the best possible deals. Building torches is a hobby that I love, and it's what makes me unique since it's not about the money.

    @Night_Into_Day

You need to clarify your listing costs and / or purchasing arrangements.
Following the link you provided in your last post here, I purchased your Convoy Z1. The pricing in your link gave the price as $70 but reduced reduced to $63.

I find my VISA has been charged $78.08 . Invoice 10188.

It's now $36.90. I seem to have missed selecting it for the discount.

It's quite impressive at that price. I measured just over 1100 lumens for 4.5 minutes and then slowly declines to a High of 600. Turbo can be reactivated but just need to monitor the heat since there's no thermal limit.

Prices may have to be bumped up a little next year if I have to register for GST.

100%. If someone was disappointed I'd get it returned and offer a refund. Just had a regular customer post this about the C8+ green I have. He has all of my custom lights and was impressed by them all.

"Really impressed with the C8+ green - compact and light weight, heaps of power particularly for such a compact unit, good battery life, and seems to disturb things less than a traditional white light. Couple that with less glare back off the suppressor and easier for my eyes to adjust to, make it a very impressive well priced option to mount on a rifle or hand hold."

I bought one, and it is awesome. Nice even cone of light around the bright central spot. it is far, far brighter than its size would suggest. It does heat up quite quickly though.

Thanks for taking time to provide some input.

Any high output torch has limited bursts at 100%. The Maxtoch M1 Archer can only handle 3 minutes on High, this Osram C8+ V2 gets 2 min 20 sec before reaching 50°C. The only difference is the M1 automatically steps down after 3 minutes, whereas the C8+ gives full manual control, which I prefer. There's nothing worse then having the output stepping down just as you're taking a shot.

Hi mate. Keen the order the above headlamp and the upgraded CX-8 torch mentioned above also.
Price for both and is it a simple USB charge like the headlamp?
Do they take the same batteries as the Maxtoch? If so I only need one extra battery and I have a good charger courtesy of @gagetman and his mate.
I ask these questions openly as there is a certain need and a market as far as I’m concerned atm.
    Regards DM.

    Hi,

The Sofirn D25S headlamp has micro usb charging, the Osram C8+ V2 has no usb charging and requires an external charger.

I'm not familiar with the Maxtoch batteries, but from this Trade Me listing I would say no. Depending on what current the protection trips at on those Maxtoch batteries, it could shut the light off on 100% power. That listing says they are Panasonic NCR18650B batteries?. If the protection doesn't trip it may run it, but at a lower output. Ideally you want the Samsung 30Q button top for $11.50

    Panasonic B - 4.9 amps max
    Samsung 30Q - 15 amps max

If they are the Panasonic B battery, it makes me wonder how honest Maxtoch's lumen ratings are. The Maxtoch M1 Archer had a lumen spec of 1650 lumens which would require approx 7 amps since it was using a dedomed SST-40. The M1 was bundled with this battery. I'm not trying to knock the brand, but since I'm one of the few that has equipment to measure lumens, it gets me thinking.
