Off for a look, lad needs a torch, maybe I do too.
What is you best bang for buck that runs single AA?

I have a wee torch for work that runs on a single AA OR the rechargeable 14500 li-ion (available from Jacob). Brand is Nicron, which I picked up at Jcar for very little money. It has the ability to angle the head, and when running the 14500 battery, is very capable for possum bashing out to 50 yards
plus.
Do any of your torches have duel battery capabilty @Night_Into_Day ?

Currently only the Convoy T2 AA/14500. The Sofirn SP10S has been discontinued, but will be replaced by the SP10 Pro at a later date.
A new model is the Sofirn C01S which is a tiny AAA pen light
Torches that use both battery types are useful, but very limited with AA's due to the low voltage. You usually need 4+ to achieve decent lumens, whereas using a lithium battery you only require just the one
That would be the Sofirn SP10S
I only have two to choose from, AA's aren't something people usually go for these days.
The other model is the Convoy T2 which is more solid and easy to fix/upgrade years down the track. It's only approx 100 lumens with an AA, whereas the SP10S is 215.
SP10S is great value, but when you see higher lumens for the same price or less, it often means corners have been cut. The T2 sacrifices brightness for better build quality. Both are decent for how affordable they are.
There's also the Sofirn SF11 that takes 4x AA's for $35.

Had a quick look but didn't notice any head torches? Have notice my convoy (I think it is anyway) has much nicer yellow light than my other torches
I don't have any headlamps on special or clearance, but they're here
My headlamps, excluding Nitecore, are always at a special. If there was a distributor I was buying from like Nitecore, they'd be priced higher. I became a dealer for Nitecore to try get more interest, but I'm just not impressed at all with their headlamps. I'd far rather a Sofirn SP40 than the Nitecore NU32, and those Skilhunt models are far superior than the HC65. If one needs a red LED, okay, they're decent, but I was pretty let down overall. They're great for the warranty, but that's about it tbh.
A few torches turned up today from Jacob.
I grabbed a head torch and a couple of torches as spares and one for the boy. I have only shone them outside over the school field next door but first impressions on them, I am impressed.
Yeah I've bought 4 or 5 torches off Jacob and have been totally impressed with the service and the products - so big thumbs up to Jacob.
My go to torches I use a lot are a Sofirn SP32A V2 (the driver gives a constant output and doesn't fade as the battery runs down) and just recently got a Convoy S2+ with the Osram LED - a good little spotter.
I use the above torches (in conjunction with my Maxtoch headlamp - will replace this with one of Jacob's if it ever craps out) as my lightweight/compact go to torches when going bush/hunting. Depending on where I'm going I use the SP32A in closed in bush area's and when I need a bit more reach particularly in more open area's i use the Convoy S2+.
Highly recommend his products.
