That’s very sad news. I’ve always enjoyed calling in on my way through Taihape. He definitely had some of the best deals going round. Rip Giles

Sorry to hear that
Enjoyed many conversations with him

Hard news. Good guy for sure.

Giles knew something was wrong 12 months he said he wished he never got the jab
Second person in 2 days pass away in Taihape

Sad news, you put me onto him back in the day Buzz and he was always a gentleman to deal with.
-
Rip mate, won't be the same without you.

That's a real shame, such a genuine guy and was so excited to finally retire and take his newly built boat out, RIP.
-
Always stopped for a look and a chat RIP
-
Buggar, very sad to hear RIP
-
Man, very sad, he was a great bloke to deal with. RIP
-
Jeeze, he was the life and soul of Taihape for so many of us passing through. Was always a fun shop to stop at and have a mooch through. He always had a good buy of one sort or another.
......and only months into his retirement. So so sad.

Wow can't believe this I was in the shop only a few days talking to the new guy Keith, he said that Giles had only left 7-8 weeks ago to go to his batch up North. When I lived in Taihape I'd always call in for a natter or to see his dogs. Another good buggar gone way too soon RIP Giles a real gentleman of the sporting shop trade.

Very sad news, rest in piece Giles

I would try and make a point of stopping and have a look around in his shop when going through gumboot town.
RIP Giles
