Sad news, and a shock. RIP.
If you have a garden and a library, you have all you need. Oh, and a dog, and a rifle
I didn’t know him but gee he sounds like a top bloke , RIP
@bluecod1967 do you know if there is anything his family need, possibly something we as a forum could band together to try and help ? doesn't have to be financial I'm sure we could tee up a working bee or similar if that kind of assistance would be appropriate and required ?

@dannyb not to my knowledge mate from what i know all is in hand good on ya mate
When I was a younger fella I was hell bent on buying one of those JW105s in .223. ‘OJR’ from the old FishnHunt forum messaged me and talked me out of it and instead sold me his Tikka M55 .308. Most accurate rifle I ever owned and in immaculate condition. I ended up shooting my first deer with it, with a couple of FishnHunt forum members Tahr, Cooch and Tony. Owen spent plenty of time giving me advice on guns and hunting going forward. He was always happy to help.
Strange. I’m not sure I’ve ever really looked at this part of the forum until tonight, and the first time I do I find this.
Go well Owen.
It sure sounds as if the forum has lost a very good member, I never meet him but it was always good knowing he was keeping things in check on the forum.
RIP Owen
Owens memorial service was held in Oamaru Monday arvo, was a good turn out & caught up with a few of his mates. very surprised & disappointed that of the three bosses from the company he worked for that were in attendance none got up & spoke, I realise that the business had changed hands a number of times over the years but very poor form considering he had worked in the factory his whole adult working like, just shy of 45 years.
His work mates made this memorial plaque
