Kimber 84 chassis- expressions of interest.

    Hi all.
I've been approached to make a light weight chassis for the Kimber 84.
It's all designed up and ready to go. There are somethings I'm still debating, like having QD cups on the forend, either sides or front.
Wondering if anyone else has interest in one before I start the builds. Way more effective to do multiples.

It is based of the Elude, should be under 700grams, will have a recoils pad due to the larger 308 size cases that can be used vs the howa mini.

    Cost should be about $1200.

    Sorry forgot to mention that.
Will take the standard internal box, so won't be a drop bottom metal or removal mag type.

Just a note wouldn't be a bad idea to maybe make the internal box part of the chassis if possible. All the actions have the feed rails I think so should just need a follower and spring. Would make it an option for those with hunters and you could potentially add a little coal with a quick manipulation of the bolt stop.

Personally qd at front seems the best as if you want a side mount it's very easy to add one via mlok.

Ive got the single stack mag with the hunter, a double stack internal would be way better

The action I have here doesn't have feed rails in it. Need the internal folded metal box to feed. Possibly I could make them as an extra, but I doubt the work vs number would make it worth it.Name: 20240712_204616.jpg

Been awhile since i had my ascent I'm pretty sure rounds are held down by the rails on the action as pictured just smaller than say a remington 700s. I'm certain the wsm mag box i have in the sheds just straight walled and could be replicated by a cavity in the chassis the same size. I think the pinching of those rails is maybe to stop the rounds coming loose for more tapered cases. but an insert could solve this if it was an issue.

Or alternatively I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to to make a double stack single feed magazine built into the chassis that would open up alot more sales as i doubt as many montanas are looking to upgrade as hunters. The hunters already use this system not using the same rails as the montana even though they are present in the actions.

Maybe the chassis could have a wider square cavity for the mag, and you get a 3D printed mag box that fits in the chassis and in the action, still using the original feed lips?
Does the hunter have feed rail as well or not?

That way you could print either a 308 mag box or a 223 mag box ( they do exist as well as 204 ruger, don’t forget that, so provision for the heavy barrel version should be considered in the design).
