The answer is always 'it depends'. From the way you wrote the question I assume you're looking to answer the performance/handiness trade-off for hunting? I use a 41mm x 9" Gunworks overbarrel...

Recent historic documents have surfaced, possibly fake, that the Third Reich was settling on 6.5 as the ideal calibre towards the end of WW2. Sorry about the language - warning not for children. ...

10-Ring liked post by ChrisW On thread : Has anybody else had accuracy problems with Sako 85 ?
Yes - it was tested again with our optic setup and did not consider it to be as consistent as a Sako rifle should be. Its been replaced with a brand new rifle. Sako makes slick rifles. You WILL get...

Switch to 130 Bergers, put it in the boiler room, the bergers come apart better. It's working for me in my 6.5 CM. Agree about .308, reckon it's the lower SD and bigger hole, big heavy soft pill does...

I used the 139 Sst for a long time in my 15 inch 7mm08 but experienced blow ups a few times on close range goats that put me off. I ended up shooting 162 eldms and they preformed really well. They...

10-Ring liked post by ChrisW On thread : Has anybody else had accuracy problems with Sako 85 ?
Unfortunately it wont be tested again today. It will be tested with another optic setup in an attempt to confirm (or deny) the initial findings. If the rifle shoots well with one of our...

This rifle was test fired this morning. It shot sub MOA after barrel cleaning (was fouled) - however the scope is no good and had 3-4moa of parallax error at 100m, when set on the 100m setting....

I find arguments in the caliber intriguing. Some don’t like it because it’s ‘new’ and the ‘normal’ caliber works better anyhow... Funny though as that’s probably just human nature. Change is...

I could’ve definitely gone that route, but I didn’t. That’s just you projecting yourself onto what I’ve posted. I don’t see how you could possibly interpret my posts so far that way.

In its defence, it IS a very accurate round. Nobody seems to have issues with it doing well under MOA goups. Look up how it came about, interesting story. On most actions it is easy to "load them...
