19Badger liked post by gundoc On thread : it can happen to anyone! Please be safe
A .22 bullet 'whizzing' would probably be deformed and ricocheted from a hard object (stone, fence post, water pipe etc.) and would have lost a fair bit of velocity but still have enough power to...

22's are notorious for ricochets and more so over summer when the ground gets harder. That's another reason why I like the 17 HMR... BUT... never assume anything and always think about where your...

Apologies to anyone reading this who is or was a member of the police. It is my observation that being a policeman / policewoman doesn't guarantee proficiency in either firearms safety or...

Are you seriously suggesting a tiny smudge of brass filling the low spots on that bolt would affect the length of firing pin travel and therefore ignition ? An un measurable amount of loose brass

I'm with GPM on this one. Mines the old round tray version.ive tried the new diamond one and it's even better with its little mechanism to make sure only one primer at a time.

A deer silhouette with a 150mm gong in the hilar zone. One shot cold bore (not quite true cold bore on our range, rifles must validate at 100M before moving back). Rate your skills at 480M . . ....

19Badger liked post by Ultimitsu On thread : Looking for a .22 bolt action setup that can be as accurate as possible for rabbits
I own a lot of 22s, and shoot almost exclusively 22s. Here is my take. 1. People tend to hang on to their accurate 22s, because there are always opportunities to shoot them. Accurate second hand...

Pickup a cheap 17hmr, like a Rossi. Less than $400 new and will be more accurate and have longer legs than you can get with the flashest of 22s.

They certainly do walk among us. Some of the ones I previously thought were "us" have actually turned out to be "them".

This will make MD happy, I'm shooting 150g Gold Dots with 44g 2208, don't care about speed, at 100m it's easily inside an inch. The deer don't care either.
