    Also put some shots into target without can on after you have sighted in using can just so you know where bullet is hitting if you need to take a shot without can on for some reason.

    I did it the other way, got it sighted in without the can, then put the can on and make the final adjustments. Less wear and tear on the can, depending how many shots it takes you to get sighted in....
