I had done that I thought tho I think I may have used too fast a twist barrel....So I have replaced it and am keen to find a good load with minimal round count on the relatively short barrel life of...

There's no LAW that says you must store the bolt separately from the firearm. There are Police recommendations but, fortunately, they don't get to overrule the legislation.

I leave the bolts and mags in my rifles, however I also leave the trigger locks on in the safe, saves me looking for them when needed.

Yes, an English mate 15 yrs ago was searching for bolts to fit a bevy of fine and collectable rifles on behalf of an estate. Original owner had died. The bolts were kept separate. Consensus was...

Yup, storing bolts separately is only a recommendation, only ammo needs to be stored separately.

I'm going to question some of that. My rifles and ammo are are stored separately. But rifle bolts and mags live in the rifles they belong to. I have a stout room, fire door with decent lock, bars on...

While it's well worth exceeding the law, it pays to know what the law is so you can tell when someone is jerking you around and making stuff up. It's good to exceed the law, but if you don't know...

I think the tikka is an all round better rifle than x bolt. Lighter, better carry rifle. Better trigger. Generally not ammo fussy and superb out of box accuracy. Stock or chassis upgrades...
