Currently run 168gn eldm's in my 22" 308 @ 2622fps they are devestating on reds and were super easy to get shooting. I have a couple boxes of 178gn eldx which are meant to perform even better at...

In answer to a question that you didn’t actually ask.. Yes you should reload for it. Find a consistent load, like a 1 moa on a bad day load. Then find a better load, then try some other projectile...

The powder that gives the highest velocity in a long barrel will also give the highest velocity in a short barrel, so powder choice is the same as what you'd usually pick.

Yes at a pinch it will work, but a 16" 308 isn't the best tool for the job for 500m shooting, 500m is a loooong way for hunting. On paper it will work energy wise, but wind will be the real kicker...

You're right, this really has been done to death. Pick a reasonably slick middle weight bullet like a 165gr NBT or 168gr ELD-M and load it up reasonably warm with 2206h or 2208... it will just...

I could do something like that, I'm still perfecting getting the printed threads spot on but am pretty close. If I just printed the end cap quite thin then if "it" was to happen then it wouldn't be...

I jam a rubber chair leg tip over the end of my knurled thread protectors to seal the barrel and also works in the safe to protect the crown when storing barrel down. Keep barrel covered in the bush...

Ok then. I’ve screwed it up a few times. 1. Lost a fallow trophy of a lifetime with a .270, never recovered the animal after days of searching with assistance of a dog. My logic is that on the...

I guess I'm about to prove I'm getting old or just a contrarian but I don't buy into this 'must be 16-18 inches' deal. As has been pointed out short barrels are more damaging to your hearing and...

Went to the Arawhata for the second period. One of our group got both the biggest trout and the oldest stag I ever saw. Rabbits for Africa. Nasty sandflies. Two days of enforced rest in a small tent...

Dunno mate. But signs on brass are the last resort method of inferring pressure for exactly this reason. Pressure signs highlight what the weakest link is and you know that if you push it, that's...

It should go real good. I have used the 22-250 with a 50 grain GMX mono on a number of reds and it was like a lightning bolt! I imagine your load will be even better
