I guessing the Rem mag "blew up " & left your "ears ringing" ??? "the wee nick in the suppressor" on the 222 was likely a tumbling projectile as 222s generally have an extremely slow twist

Many thanks to Darren DPT for providing a suppressor to go under the hammer, it's a 30cal 1/2 x 20 but I'm sure Darren will happily replace with an equivalent in another cal / thread if required. ...
