I'm a 260 lover and thinking of making the jump to the 284 also. Was wanting to run the 284 on a short action to use Tikka CTR magazines, but running the numbers is appear that the performance of a...

It's because only fudds are interested in the 270 and AIing a cartridge is beyond them.

The American has the funny 3/8"/13mm dovetail, the 457 has the standard euro 11mm rail. Rings may fit but likely be better to get new rings.

Thats just what I wanted to hear. I think sticking to 162gr would be the way to go rather than trying to stuff a 180gr into the short magazine.

It will be interesting to see how they perform. If done well and not to limited in OAL they could potentially double the BC of standard 22 ammo. The biggest issue with 22 ammo is consistency, if...

Steve123 liked post by Beetroot On thread : "Shooting" day pack vs "normal" day pack
I usually carry one, but find they have limited effectiveness due to long grass and step terrain. I've started shooting with a sling which I find very effective but a sling and pack would be even...

While that sounds satisfying they'll probably just come back and rob your house or set your sheds on fire. Better off just to shoot the bastards and it'll just be a poaching accident.

Don't have an issue with hybrid technology, but I would want the stepped CVT transmission. Why even bother with CVT if you are making it stepped? There are lots of good reliable auto transmissions...
